Homecoming (and a weekend update)

a few words about the weekend coming this afternoon... :)

Oh what a weekend!! It was a weekend filled with friends and family. FarmBoy was in a wedding of a friend of ours and Tyger had his homecoming. There was much to be juggled but it was so worth the begging of help and the coordinating of schedules! Friday night the kiddos all got to spend some time with SuperGran and Papa. My rockstar mom even took over more mom-duties for me and brought Tyger to and from the homecoming football game. He had a blast hanging out with his sweetiefriend and buddies. What's better than that? FarmBoy and I were feeling the same way. We were at the rehearsal and dinner - delicious foods, hilarious friends, and drinks aplenty. Well - for him at least :) There was a ton of laughing going on and my soul was full of happy.

Saturday was more of the same. Errands to pick up corsages and coffee filled part of the morning - the rest of the time was spent straightening up the house, doing some laundry, and getting all primped and pretty for the festivities. FarmBoy's parents came to stay with the kiddos while I went to the wedding. Between the wedding and the dinner, though, came all the excitement! My dear mother-in-law took my sweet Tyger to get his sweetiegirl for the Homecoming dance. She saved me a bunch of miles and stress by doing this huge favor. They got back to our house shortly after I did and I got to take a few treasured pics and give out dozens of hugs. And those two - well, they just kept smiling. And smiling. And smiling. So, so sweet. I left home feeling so blessed - I got to witness friends make their marriage vows earlier, now I was watching my sweet oldest son with his latest milestone in life. Memories of dances from my highschool days made me smile all the more. I knew he would have a wonderful time and it was impossible to not be excited for him. I headed up to the wedding reception from there - thanking God for all of his blessings. I smiled all night long - even as I walked several blocks from my parking spot, down a long steep hill, to the hotel - with bare feet. (Okay, I was pretty preggo-sore after that walk and maybe I didn't smile alllll night long - but I was still joy-filled about it all.) It was just a beautiful weekend where a ton of different little details came together so perfectly. I know I haven't articulated it very well here but I will treasure them up in my heart for days to come.
