moving day!

Yep - that's right. We're moving today. At least in a way...
It all started when (queue dreamy music):
PrincessGirl came into our bedroom at 6:53 and woke us up. It just happened to be the exact time that FarmBoy should have been leaving for work and not opening his eyes. Oh boy. This meant a fight for the bathroom for two guys who needed to leave asap. Tyger was woken up and started his breakfast - the original plan being that I would drive him to school since the bus would be there in about 15 minutes and that didn't seem like enough time to get ready. I tried to fall back asleep and then realized that with a little extra effort, we could probably get the boy on the bus anyhow so I hopped out of bed. Here's the series of events that followed:
1. Tried to flush toilet and it flushed but the water sounded funny.
2. Squirted soap on my hands and turned on the water - nothing. No. Agua.
3. Realized well pump was frozen.
4. Went to the kitchen to tell FarmBoy who was super thrilled cause he didn't technically have time to be messing with this this morning.
5. Rushed Tyger through breakfast and getting dressed. He came out wearing a t-shirt. For those of you who are southern readers, here's a heads up - it's -40 out there with a windchill. A t-shirt wasn't going to cut it today.
6. Sent him off to find a sweatshirt and started to melt icecubes for water so we could do something about his beyond-crazy bedhead.
7. He eventually found a sweatshirt and we got his hair all nice and wet just in time to see the bus roll up.
8. FarmBoy headed down the driveway and asked Mr. BusDriver to please sit tight for 2 minutes.
9. Tyger made it! I still don't know how. Good job, sonny boy.
10. Made breakfast for two other little people and FarmBoy went out to try a few other ways of warming up the pumphouse.
11. He came in and hung out for 20 minutes while the heat worked it's magic.
12. No magic. Not enough heat.
13. We're moving in with SuperMom and Papa for the day. Looking forward to working toilets and a shower!
14. Feeling thankful to a dear SIL who worked the store this morning so FarmBoy could try to take care of us.
15. Thankful for a somewhat (at least occasionally) flexible job so he can come home early to try to get this problem fixed. There is much more at stake here than toilets - the cows need (more) water too.

uh that's awful! What a stressful morning. We're having heating issues ourselves, but nothing like yours. Hope it all gets fixed in a jiffy, and I hope mother nature throws a helping hand in there and warms up a bit.

Oh my! A morning like that and you still sound bright and cheery, I need to learn from you.

I hope all works out in the end... you get to enjoy a day with the rents and go home to water!

I thought for a minute there that somehow one of my posts was put onto your blog. LOL! its just as NUTZ!
I'm sure glad supermom is so close!
My stepmom was calling all of us kids last night, telling us to all leave our cell phones by our beds in case someone had furnace issues and we'd be able to arrange a warm bed for them to come sleep in!
We bought a new thermostat last night so hopefully our heat will stay on. I can't handle anymore 50 degree surprises! And Neither Can The Kitties!
Hope all works out Beanie!!!! Yay for Jeremy being superdad and superhubby!!!!!!!
