10 reasons to smile on a monday

Monday's are normally my bane. I have a hard time adjusting to the beginning of each week. This morning though, there's an extra skip in my step. So far today:

1. Alarm was accidentally set much earlier than usual, after hitting the snooze button twice, I actually woke up much easier than I usually do and was still 15 minutes before normal.
2. I had to sneak out of FarmBoy's side of the bed cause I was stuck between him and a little boy who had crept up there in the night. Once I had sneaked out, the little boy popped up and asked if I'd tuck him back into his bed. Sooo sweet. (And kind of funny since we had tried so hard to not wake him.)
3. On the way down the stairs I realized it was President's Day and I wouldn't have to share the bathroom! I smiled at least three times for this reason alone. Okay, maybe smiling is a stretch, but I felt glad on the inside.
4. Getting up so early meant I had time to make tea before my shower. I also was able to get all my stuff together for the day and have it ready to go out the door.
5. I was only interrupted twice when I was trying to get ready - by the same little girl. The second time, she just wanted to sweetly tell her mama goodbye and to have a good day.
6. I was out the door a full 5 minutes (or more) earlier than usual.
7. The frost on the windshield was remedied by washer fluid - no scrapping necessary!
8. At least two beautiful morning scenes on my way in to work. One an old barn/farmstead with a huge American flag blowing proud in the background as the sun was rising. The other, silhouetted trees with a red/purple sky immediately behind them. Sunrises are glorious.
9. I had time to stop and pick up breakfast - something that wouldn't leave me starving in an hour and still reasonably healthful.
10. Starting the week off with a blog post. I've been too slacky lately. Nice to feel I have something to share.

So with that, I hope your Monday is filled with spontaneous joyful moments!

When I read this, I could TOTALLY see your face with your smirk as you walked down your stairs!
And isn't it amazing how it makes you feel when you're ahead of the game like that? - get up earlier than usual, have things ready to go.... I LOVE when that happens.

Which is like 3 times a year.

All great reasons. I think I need to start opening my eyes a little wider some mornings. :-)
