a vegas (quick) recap

one of the perks of running our business is getting to do a little more traveling than we would otherwise. we had a convention last week in vegas. it was farmboy's first time there, and i went there with a friend mannnny years ago. it is so polar opposite of life here. i loved it for that. i wouldn't pay my own money to go back on a vacation (there are other areas that would hold more appeal for me) but to go there for something like this was completely perfect!
we left late tuesday. i mean late. we had a two hour delay at the airport for a few different reasons... happily it was all just minor annoyance and nothing of any real consequence. settled into our hotel room around 1 a.m. and straight to sleep cause we had our first class at 8. this was our first time doing classes as part of our conventions and it was worth every moment. learned a ton of things.

so our days were filled with standing, walking, sitting through classes. our nights were filled with walking and checking out the strip, skyways, and restaurants. we went into major sticker shock with restaurant pricing - and finally on friday we decided to "fix" it with subway for lun-ner (lunch/dinner).

the best part about the trip: the beds and our hotel room. it was sooo comfortable. a pillow-topped pillow-top. a bathtub that goes up to here. i've never had a bubble bath like that in my life. it was like being in the movies! our room was on the 32nd floor (our ears popped so many times in the elevator - it was kind of crazy) - the view was gorgeous - the lights - the mountains in the background. (the phone by the toilet!?!?) sigh. all so wonderful. it was very hard to come home. of course i missed my crazy kiddos but they were in such good hands (thanks mom & dad) that i didn't feel rushed to be back. it was all so wonderful. a great mix of work and play.

What a great experience! I'm glad you were able to do it and not have to pay the price (except for the food, which I hear is outrageous!)

Yay for a little you and hus time! :)

I've never been but your hotel room sounds exactly like I imagined a Vegas hotel room to look like. What a great trip away. Now I want to take a bath.

love the recap Jo! I was ready for lots more of your experience!
I'm glad you both had time together albeit work related, at least it was kid-less. The kids did so well here!

I'm with Ange! I'm so glad you guys were able to do this because it truly was a "mini get-away" even though it was a work function. And very true in that it was a great place to go! Tons of action there and the scenery in and of itself could paint itself into a work of art!
I look forward to getting out there some day...
Glad you're home and safely back!
