We decided to try an aquarium of guppy fish - four - last month. Things were going - swimmingly, you might say. Then the night before last, I noticed that one of the fish had gone MIA and I wondered if he had been eaten. I found him, and he was obvious not feeling well, but decided to let him be for the time being. Tonight I asked Tyger if he had noticed that the fish wasn't doing well over the last few days and he decided to check it out. He found the now-late Herbie and we debated on telling our sweet dramatic PrincessGirl that he died or just flush him. I decided that she had the right to know and bury her fish if she wanted to. She did.
Off to find a proper burial spot and she dug a little grave. Herbie was carefully laid to rest and covered with dirt. PrincessGirl had a few words:
"I'm going to miss Herbie!!" She whimper-cried three times, came to me for a consoling hug, wiped her hands clean, and ran off to go play in the pool.
That was easy.

nothing like a healthy sense of reality to make a girl want to play again. :)
so sorry about herbie! i hope his friends stay put in their aquarium for many many more moons.
Poor fishy! He.never.even.had.a.chance!
(I think that's from a movie?)
Sorry the Herb-ster didn't recover :( I'm sure the sight of PrincessGirl being so delicate and compassionate with her goodbye's melted your heart :)
Poor Herbie, although when it comes to guppies...there's always more where that came from!
P.S., Jolene, I wouldn't let Angie come near your guppies..no matter how sweet that face looks, she will always be the girl who flushed her fish 'cause she didn't want them anymore. Hehe, love you, Ang.
AMY! i hired dave as my hitman for that unfortunate episode. and biff had it coming. everyone knows that.
Awww, life's lessons...what a sweet sweet little girl. :)
