makin a list - checkin it twice

It was a fun and event-filled weekend - but rather than go into details, i've decided to mention some highlights in santa-style :)

Naughty: Smokey (doggie) eating our UPS-delivered Christmas dinner while we were gone (she somehow managed to get loose while we were out of town on Saturday and I came home to a yard of shredded cardboard and food wrappers.)

Nice: FarmBoy taking the kiddos to Great Grandma's so I could have some alone-in-the-house-time for a few hours on Sunday.

Naughty: Mommy (me) being cranky and then getting the van stuck in the driveway because of her impatience.

Nice: Aunts, uncles, and family who take the time to get together for Christmas, showing the importance of tradition and family.

Naughty: Smokey eating our Christmas dinner!!! I know I already said this but I'm still mad at her.

Nice: Awesome smiles when the little kids talked to Santa and then opened their presents with awesome looks of joy and wonder on their faces.

Naughty: FarmBoy for laughing at my utter dismay when I realized what Smokey had done.

Nice: Forgiving and loving hugs from my children despite previously-mentioned cranky impatience issues.

Naughty: Cowboy twisting his arms up into such a tangled mess that he literally tied himself into a knot in his shirt and got stuck.

Nice: Aunties who put leftovers into containers and generously sent them home with us! We had a delicious dinner last night!

Nice: The cashier at Cub foods who pulled out an ad for me and started applying coupons without even batting an eye about the fact that I was too lazy/unprepared to do it myself!

I know there are others but I'm just quite stuck at the moment and can't think of them.

Merry Christmas week everyone!! May you have more nices than naughties on your lists, too :)

And why was dinner delivered? What WAS dinner? I can't help but picture the scene on A Christmas Story when the dogs come in and tear up the Turkey.......
