unclear on the concept

Today I took my wee-est ones out to run some errands with me. We picked up some fruit snacks and the kids were having a pack after our first stop. PrincessGirl insisted on sharing with me and handed me a pack from "her" box. She asked me what I was going to do with my gum while I ate them and I told her I'd tuck it in my cheek so I wouldn't have to spit it out yet (a near-necessity cause it was my last piece!). She seemed satisfied with my answer and let it go with that. At our next stop, the grocery store, the kids were so well-behaved that I agreed to get them a pack of "Yellow Gum" (JuicyFruit) to share. They excitedly opened it up and chomped on their pieces. Amazing how something so simple can be such a treat.

When we finally sat down for lunch at home, PrincessGirl took her gum from her mouth and smooshed it onto her cheek. "Look mommy! I'm going to save it until I'm done with lunch!" Ha ha!

To PrincessGirl - Good try sweetie - it made my day to see that ridiculous piece of bright yellow gunk sticking on the side of your pretty face! If only I had had the camera in my hand for that split second, priceless moment!
