dear me

There's a "new" phenomenon in town. I decided today that I needed to talk to LilSis and confess to one of my dork-isms.

I frequently will send myself emails for reminders and whatnot. As soon as that Send button is clicked I have forgotten what I was working on and move on to the next thought and task. This works great for me. Until I see that I suddenly have a new email and get VERY excited about what I get to open next.

D'oh!!!!!

How, in a period consisting of seconds, can I forget that I sent myself something just to disappointment myself when I see that bolded 1 unread message with MY name attached. Geeze louize!

Anyone else do this?

EV-ER-Y DAY. for real. i do this constantly and when i see a new message come in, my heart blinks (that's literally what it feels like) and then i see "Me" and i feel so, so ashamed of myself.
once in a while, i send myself an email from my work account and it takes a few minutes to register. those times i feel slightly less embarassed when i get so excited about it only to realize that Angie Bromeland is ... me. sigh.

Jolene, I hate to say this, but this is a sign of OLD age! LOL!!!! Only your best friend can make a comment like this to you and you wouldn't get mad. I love ya!

Jo, it reminds me of the time I kept dialing our number, got the busy signal, hung up, it rang, answered, no one there and repeated it about 5 -6 times then realized what I had been doing! DUH

I've never thought about sending myself an email like that, however I set little reminders on my Outlook calendar ALL THE TIME! I think I had 4 pop up this morning. Including one to "find money." I never get to 'dismiss' that one though......just Snooze it.

YES! I do this a lot, so don't feel bad. I get so many emails a day that I totally forget. But I still get just excited when I see my little icon at the bottom showing I have an email coming in.
