my own little B&B

Our vacation was a wee bit different than Angie's and Sarah's (two of my fav vacation friends). We stay at FarmBoy's uncle's cabin about 40 miles away and commute. It works out fairly well (meaning that it's an affordable option for us and we suck up the trouble that it brings) and we appreciate having it as an option! One thing I haven't appreciated over the last many years of us staying there is the bed we've been sleeping on. It's a waterbed. Old. Has a huge weird lump in the middle of it and I've frequently felt like I was sleeping arched over and would wake up aching and frustrated - after tossing and turning way too much. This doesn't even touch the beauty of the bed. It's covered with a good half-dozen quilts and bedspreads. Nothing matched. Nothing even pretty. Sadly a few were even a, dare-I-say, hideous reminder of the 80s. Ugh.

NOT. ANY. MORE.

My awesome cousin Kelly and I did some very fun shopping on Saturday and did a bed makeover! It's completely adorable now! I found an inexpensive bed-in-a-bag at Target (not the one pictured but similar enough) and couldn't get it all washed up fast enough! FarmBoy even surprised me by getting the bedskirt all fitted in underneath the waterbed thingy. It looks SO fabulous now. I love it! Also, as exciting as the new look - we found a major air bubble in the waterbed that we were able to get out. No more lumps! No more tossing! No more turning! I'm so excited about my little B&B. I can't wait to find the next subtle change to make the place even cozier :)

So good to have you back!

That's awesome that you were able to fix your sleepin' station up! And in an easy and fairly inexpensive way. Way to go!

I see I missed your birthday while you were away, so Happy Birthday!
So great about the bed, it just makes everything better, doesn't it?!
The waterbed made me giggle...I kind of didn't even know those were still around. :)

Ah.... water beds. The MAGNIFICANT and DEFINITE sign that the 80's happened. I, for one, have the hardest time getting OUT of those beds with my back since you usually have to curl your back a little to get enough 'umpf' to get yourself up and out. I pretty much just have to steam roll over the edge. Picture that!
