We did one other new thing to celebrate birthdays this year - and I have to say, it was a big hit. Bearsie and Cowboy each got to choose a friend and an activity. Hmm... I'm just realizing how lucky these kiddos are - TWO dates, so to speak, for their birthdays - one with a parent, one with a friend! Anyhow... It was so fun to see them all excited to choose who they would invite and what they would do. Once Bearsie realized that her friend Josie (Dave & Angie's niece from Wisconsin) would be in town, she insisted she had found the perfect person to help her celebrate. The two met last spring at Adelia's baptism and have been pen pal buddies. Bearsie invited her out to get little girl manicures and they couldn't have had more fun!
Cowboy had just as much fun as his sister. He recently met a new friend from the co-op that we attend and after an email or two of sorting out details we arranged for him and his buddy Greyson to see The Lorax. Greyson's mom was a rockstar about it and even offered to stay with the boys so I wouldn't have to worry about what to do with LG. They spent last Friday afternoon with theater tickets, popcorn, and a new buddy. I don't know what could be better than that! Well, unless you count having mom remember to bring a camera to capture it all. I guess we better get together with him again soon. :)

LOVE this. i didn't realize the nails were part of her birthday! so cool. those two are the sweetest little bffs ever.
