fall foods

I need macaroni and cheese. Not the kind in a box. Not the kind with some sort of processed cheese. Real stuff. Baked. Steamy. Crumbs on the top. Cheesey heaven.

I am feeling a strong urge to visit the French Meadow Bakery. They have the most amazing baked mac and cheese. I miss working in Minneapolis at times like this.

So - does anyone out there have an amazing recipe to help me... hello? anyone? are you there?

I'm obsessive about Macaroni and Cheese, it is definitely comfort food for me, however, I'm lazy and get it out of Kraft boxes so I can't help you with a recipe! :)
I'll have to try that bakery you mentioned sometime!

how about you take me to french meadow (to make my knees feel better) and we'll order mac 'n' cheese and make it a priority to figure out what they've put in it to make it so good! p.s. did i tell you i'm now a food editor? yikes.

Kraft definitely works in a pinch -- but with it getting so chilly... hmm... it's almost too light. Definitely should try the bakery! It's not very from from Angie's place. I'm hoping we'll be able to walk from her apartment but I think I need to look at a map - it might just be a little too far. SUCH good food there!

oh gosh! you did but i forgot! you definitely should check out this place then. (does that mean we can expense lunch?? ;))

i need to figure out where to drop off my kidlets so we can go for a girly lunch! or i suppose i could wait another month and we could have a girly dinner and jeremy might be able to be home. i guess that could work.

Can I come?
Jolene, checkout allrecipes.com
I've found AWESOME stuff on there.
(i.e. Zuppa Toscana--that potato soup from the Olive Garden!! One of our favorites!)
It's a fun site because you can tell it what ingredients you have and it comes up with a recipe. Cool, huh?
OR you can search by keywords like, "Macaroni and Cheese."
Post which recipe you choose so we can try it!

You bet I checked! I did that about 1/2 hour before lunch. My sandwich wasn't nearly as tasty after I started craving the M&C! :) I found two recipes on there that I want to try. One requires making a roux and I've never succesfully pulled it off so I don't know about that (I think I found out that I don't cook it long enough). The other has OODLES of cheese! I bet it's good though!

Hmm... I don't think those links worked, did they!

A roux isn't too hard--just pretend you're rachael ray or...someone like that...who's super confident in the kitchen! I'm gonna try one of those tonight! We'll have to compare outcomes! : )
