I was wandering down the grocery aisles tonight... it was one of the few times that I went list-less. A bad idea. Each aisle, I had to swing my head from side to side analyzing if I needed something or not. I was glad that I didn't have to rush cause I had no idea what all I needed to buy. One of my spontaneous decisions was to try to make my own McDonald's-style parfait for breakfast. I got most of the ingredients I would need and when I went down the cereal aisle, I started watching for granola. Funny thing... just cause granola bars are in that aisle doesn't mean that plain-ole granola is! I was stumped. I didn't remember seeing granola anywhere before, so I had no idea where to look next. Then I spotted it. A tiny plastic bag with a small amount of granola in it, neatly labeled "honey nut granola." I couldn't believe how it was sitting on the shelf with the cereal - as though Someone knew that I would need to be inspired to head to the bulk foods section. I know it's tiny and borderline ridiculous but I have to say that when those little coincidences happen... well, it ain't no coincidence :)

I've had many a stumped moments at the grocery store. Like the day I was looking for Cool Whip!!!! I thought - "it's dairy right?" so zoomed over to the dairy section - NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! Then asked for help (which I still think is weird to have to do in a grocery store. Usually everything is spelled out so well for you on the hanging lists) and the reply was, "It's in the Frozen Dessert section." -- silence -- Yeah. 'Cause that's where I'D PUT IT! not....
hehe yay for delightful finds! that never happens to me in the grocery store. i'm with lyss--i end up asking ALL the time.
Okay, so where is the granola? I've looked for it numerous times and have yet to actually track someone down to ask...
I always have problems find boullion and a few other weird things like that. I get so frustrated!
Thanks for all of your understanding ladies - who knew that grocery stores were so confusing ;)
Sarah - in my Cub it was over by the health foods - you could buy it in packaged bags there. Otherwise, the stuff I bought, was in their bulk area - so there was granola, dried fruits, and lots of other really yummy looking discoveries :)
