these are the moments

I rue the day when:

efalents become elephants
kisses contain no magical powers
"do it again!" doesn't follow being tickled
the "paut" (spot) on the blankie doesn't need to be in just the right position to fall asleep
beloved toy friends don't need kissing goodnight
heavy, happy footsteps can't be heard running through the house
shrieks of laughter are things of the past
phrases like "fwow me up toe dah kye" don't need to be interpreted
doggies lose their status and become mere animals
S's are pronounced
blankies aren't loved enough to be dragged through the house
post-nap sleepy smiles don't exist, because naps don't exist
dawies (dollies) are always dressed and become a memory that sits on a shelf
and snuggling onto mommy's lap doesn't quite work cause they just got too big

and until then, I'm going to ponder these things in my heart... and try my best to never forget.

good grief, this list is wonderful. i will miss these things too, but i'm SO glad you wrote them down so that we never forget how freakin' adorable your kids were/are! :)

All those things are a part of my past - my children have grown up and I try to remember the little things like that. I'm so glad you've taken the time to write them down for yourself, because far too soon they are only memories. I love you Jo!
I've been blessed to have all my grandbabies to make memories with and this helps me to think of the little things and remember when...
