go to the corner!

I've often wondered if timeouts really work for my babes. Sometimes they do, other times I think they might be more for me than them. SquishyBaby is getting to the age where timeouts are okay. Helpful, even. I don't know what inspired me to try it with her (yes, I do - FarmBoy put her on one the week before and horrified me with the realization that she was getting older!).

She was being kind of naughty so I said to her, "Do you need a timeout?!?" She looked at me and said plainly, "No." Then she turned around and walked right into the corner. She stood there for about 3 seconds, using the appropriate amount of tears and wailing for that amount of time and then calmly walked back to me, gave me a hug, and proceeded to do what she was supposed to have been doing all along.

Beautiful and effective.

That's so sweet - I hope our 'time outs' work that well...luckily, I'm not there yet!
